Methods of motivation

Businesses can use different ways to motivate workers. Some businesses pay loyalty bonuses to hardworking employees annually. Those who get these bonuses feel valued and are therefore motivated to work better and in a more efficient manner. Other businesses may use commissions to motivate staff to work harder. 

Commission is a payment for reaching a target. The higher your sales, the higher your commission. As these are directly linked to performance, they can be used to “get more” out of employees without having to pay them much more that they were earning before.

However, non-financial ways of motivating employees are also popular in some firms. These firms focus on giving their employees fringe benefits, which can be described as benefits or perks over the normal wage or salary.
