After recently filing for bankruptcy, Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York, is reported to owe nearly $40,000 in unpaid golf club membership fees.
Overdraft and Bankruptcy Woes
Giuliani also reportedly owes another $10,000 in overdraft fees from his bank, another reason why the lawyer has recently filed for bankruptcy.
List of Claimants in Bankruptcy Filing
The bankruptcy filing lists 20 claimants whose combined claims exceed $152 million.
Unpaid Legal Fees
The news comes just months after Giuliani, who was also Trump’s former lawyer, faced a lawsuit for $1.4 million in unpaid legal fees during that time.

Giuliani listed a claim against Trump for unpaid legal fees related to their collaboration in contesting the 2020 election results.
Trump’s Helping Hand
Trump offered to lend Giuliani a hand by hosting a fundraiser event at one of his golf clubs last September.

Giuliani filed for bankruptcy in December following a federal judge’s order to pay over $148 million to Georgia election workers for defamation.

In 2020, Giuliani baselessly accused Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss of electoral fraud after Biden’s presidential election victory the same year.
Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Filed
In a later statement, Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and called the decision on the lawsuit “absurd.”
Unpaid Fees to Trump International Golf Club
The court revealed that Giuliani also owes an outstanding amount of $647 to Trump International Golf Club.
Outstanding Debts to Emerald Dunes Country Club
The main figure that Giuliani owes comes from the $38,520 to Emerald Dunes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Defamation Ruling and Fundraising Efforts
Giuliani raised over $700,000 from donors to pay off his legal fees from the Trump case despite having a net worth of $50 million.
Giuliani’s Lack of Sympathy
Billionaire and former Giuliani 2008 supporter Leon Cooperman said, “I wouldn’t give him a nickel.”
Turning His Back on Giuliani
“I’m very negative on Donald Trump. It’s an American tragedy. [Rudy] was ‘America’s mayor,’” Cooperman said before adding, “And like everybody else who gets involved with Trump, it turns.”
Ukraine Legal Fees Debt
Despite Giuliani’s efforts, it was reported that he’s still in debt by $387,000 due to legal fees that he created after doing shady business with Ukraine and helping to oust the U.S. ambassador in Ukraine.
Multiple Credit Card and Tax Bills
In addition to legal fees, Giuliani faces unresolved credit card and tax bills and debts from other lawsuits.
Giuliani’s Unsurprising Debts
Also, in the filings, Giuliani claimed to owe 49 claimants from $100-$500 million, to which a spokesperson said, “The filing should be a surprise to no one.”

“No person could have reasonably believed that Mayor Rudy Giuliani would be able to pay such a high punitive amount,” they said.
No Fundraisers Will Save the Future
Now Giuliani has unimaginable debts, it’s looking like no fundraisers will ever be enough to save the former “America’s Mayor.”
